It was around 8 am on Wednesday that Monojit De saw Shubhra lying in the courtyard of his house.
Panic stricken, he called his parents, tenants and neighbours, some of whom recognised Shubhra as the daughter of Tapash Chakraborty and Sulekha, who stay in nearby Umesh Chandra lane.
Sulekha was informed and the girl taken to RG Kar hospital from where she was referred to the Bangur Institute of Neurology.
"There has not been any form of sexual assault. Doctors at RG Kar have given it in writing,"said Damayanti Sen, DC (North). Neurosurgeon Suniti S- aha then referred Shubhra to SSKM hospital.
"Since injury cases are not treated at Bangur, we sent her to SSKM,"said Trishit Roy, director BIN.
Police have so far not found any clue to where the girl was taken or how she reached the Beadon Street house. The rear wall of the house is 12 feet high and the police feel it is impossible for anyone to have scaled it.

A namesake and distant relative of Shubhras father was initially treated as a suspect because he was believed to be missing on Sunday, but the lead fizzled out when he returned home at night. Police are waiting to speak to Shubhra.
Shubhras parents are shocked at finding her in this condition. "Those who did this to my daughter should be caught and severely punished.
The police must ensure that no other child suffers in this manner,"said Tapash Chakraborty.
