KOLKATA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to ask for further remand of Sudipta Sen, as he had given some vital clues to the officials who are interrogating him in Odisha. A court in Khurda had given Sen's custody to ED. Sen, who also had offices in Odisha, had duped the depositors there.
Senior officials said that the Saradha group chief had given leads about some of his properties in Delhi and Gurgaon area.

Sen has also mentioned how he had removed money from his Saradha funds by the end of December 2012, before the collapse of the group in April 2014. Sen was later arrested from J&K in April.
Sen will be in ED's custody till July 21 and the sleuths might plead before the court for further remand of Sen. Officers said that Sen had said about how he paid money to some of the politicians, but he is very cautious about naming people.
Meanwhile, in Kolkata, Santanu Ghosh, the Xenitis chief, has been remanded in jail custody till July 30. The ED officials pleaded before the court that as Ghosh had siphoned off money to Singapore, he is a major accused in the money laundering racket. Ghosh had accepted money even in his wife's name from Sudipta Sen.
Justice Shyamal Sen commission, meanwhile, heard the matter of former Congress MP Matang Singh, who had earlier admitted to the commission
receiving Rs 11.7 crore from Saradha for selling NE TV to Sen. However, Singh's counsel Pradip Sancheti said that Singh had made a contract with Sen. "We tried to convince the commission that the agreement was for selling NE TV. Now, Sen claims that he had paid Rs 28 crore."
Sancheti said, "There is no clear record of accounts and there is no receipt of Rs 5.77 crore, but the officials of Saradha claimed that it was paid to Singh. Again, there is a frivolous entry of Rs 57 lakh, but it was not paid to Singh." Sancheti said that Sen is claiming the amount he had paid to Singh, which he did not pay. "May be he had paid to some others and want to put it in the accounts of Singh." It might be mentioned that Singh has already started repaying the money and as part of the first installment he has paid Rs 50 lakh to Justice Shymal Sen commission. Due to Singh's illness, the commission has exempted him for making personal appearance.
