City students react to Portugal's win

City students react to Portugal's win
I was supporting France all through the tournament, so I am, for obvious
reasons, very disappointed with the loss. Portugal winning the Euro Cup finals is
unacceptable since they
didn’t perform well in any of the league matches. France defeated a superb team (Germany) in the semis, but losing to a team like Portugal was sheer bad luck.

I wouldn't say I am very upset with Portugal's win, but I really wanted France to lift the cup.
1x1 polls
France, comparatively, is a better team. I wish Antoine Griezmann had played a little better.

France definitely played well but I guess things didn’t go their way on the final night. I am very happy that Portugal won. The win goes on to prove that Portugal in not only about CR7 but other players too, who performed to the best of their abilities.

I am a die-hard Christiano Ronaldo fan and I’m ecstatic about Portugal’s win. It would have been great, however, if Ronaldo stayed on-field till the last moment. But winning the match without CR7 shows the positive growth of the team over these years. It was indeed a lucky day for Portugal.

I was supporting Portugal. I had a gut feeling that they would win. For me, the turning point was when Ronaldo went off the field owing to his injury. Eder’s winning goal in that extra time was unimaginable.
— Mayuri Mukherjee, 2nd year, St Xavier’s College
Despite being an underdog in the tournament, Portugal
triumphed over France, courtesy, a brilliant goal from Eder in the extra time. This win will be remembered by the entire world as a turning point in Portuguese football. I am extremely happy.

There was a lot of speculation about which team was going to win the Euro Cup 2016 finals. I was looking forward to France’s victory but then Portugal, even amidst adversity, played pretty well. It was a deserving win.
—Archiesman Banerjee, 3rd year, Heramba Chandra College
I supported Portugal in the finals so I was rather upset when Ronaldo was substituted post the injury. But the team proved itself by lifting the cup in the end and I was over the moon.
