KOLHAPUR: Dipak Dubal, a former student from the Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK), has been selected as part of the editorial board of the international scientific journal 'Scientific Report', published by the Nature publishing group. A university circular stated that the selection was done by invitation from the publishing house.
Dubal was selected by the journal's editorial team.
The circular stated that the he will edit scientific articles on the topic of 'Energy storage materials and devices - capacitors and batteries'. Dubal is currently working as a research fellow at the Institute of Nano science and Nano-technology at Barcelona in Spain.
An SUK official said, "Dubal already has two international patents in his name in the field of physics and has published over 90 research articles in various international journals. He was awarded a PhD in 2011 from the SUK, after which he has worked as research fellow in South Korean and Germany."
The official added that Dubal is the only SUK student to be awarded the Marie Curie fellowship, under which he is doing his research at Barcelona, Spain.
The research fellow hails from a small village in Walva taluka of the Sangli district. "I owe all my achievements to my parents. In fact there was a time, when I did not have any money for my post-graduation. It was looked after by the university's head of department of physics C D Lokhande," Dubal said.
