Mahalakshmi Express to ply on electric engine from June 4

Kolhapur: The central railway department will run Mahalakshmi express on electric engine permanently from June 4.
The Mumbai- Kolhapur Mahalaxmi express will depart from Mumbai with an electric engine while Kolhapur-Mumbai Mahalakshmi express will ply with an electric engine fro June 5. This will be the first express train to ply with with an electric engine from Kolhapur railway station on a regular basis.
Shivnath Biyani, member of Pune divisional advisory committee said, “The Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalakshmi Express will run regularly on the route from June 4 with the help of electric locomotive instead of diesel locomotive.The Kolhapur-Mumbai Mahalakshmi Express will run regularly from June 5. This will save time and provide better facilities to the passengers. Also, the delays caused due to railway crossings etc. can be avoided with this.”
