Kolhapur: Mayor Rouparani Nikam on Wednesday informed that a mega cleanliness drive "My City, My Responsibility" will be organised in Kolhapur city on Friday.
Over 4,000 residents, along with Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) officials, will participate in the day-long cleanliness and anti-encroachment drive across the city.
Nikam, while speaking to the reporters, said, "The first phase will start from 7am. It will include cleaning of main roads and footpaths and removing encroachments on them. A meeting was also held with the anti-encroachment department and the city traffic police regarding removal of encroachments. In the second phase, the internal roads in the wards will be cleaned."
Nikam also informed that four well-equipped public toilets for women will be made operational in city areas surrounding Mahalaxmi Temple within a week. "Strict action will be taken against encroachments and illegal works. I am now in action mode for the benefit of the city," she said.
"The aim is to get the ongoing projects on track," the mayor added.
