Kolhapur: A jeweller (45) running a jewellery shop atSangrulvillage nearKolhapurwas robbed at gun-point by five bike-borne men on Saturday night.
The jeweller, identified asTejaramPerajiMali-Sundesha, resides inShukarwarPetharea and runs a jewellery shop atSangrulvillage. After closing the shop on Saturday evening, he was heading home inKolhapurcity. According to police, two masked men were keeping an eye on the jeweller's movements and informed three others waiting at VilasCronerarea afterTejaramleft the shop.
The bike-borne men chasedTejaramand stopped him at gun-point. They took him to a nearby field, shut his mouth with tape and tied his hands and legs. They robbed the gold jewellery,worth Rs6lakhfrom him. The suspects took the victim's mobile and electric motorcycle and threw itatan undisclosed location. The robbers drove towardsKolhapur.
The victim received help from some passersby. He told the incident to the locals, who then called the police.
