Woman injured in accident dies at hospital

Kanpur: A woman who got injured in an accident on Tuesday after a speeding car hit her scooter in Rawatpur police area, passed away during treatment at a hospital on Wednesday. Sadhana Srivastava (50), wife of Amit Sinha and a resident of Maswanpur, was going to a medical store in Maswanpur on her scooter on Tuesday afternoon when a black car crashed into her scooter.Sadhana fell on the road and suffered a severe head injury. The collision was so intense that her helmet was shattered. Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene abandoning the car. The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.Local people informed the family about the accident, and Sadhana was admitted to a private hospital, where she died on Wednesday. Rawatpur police station in-charge KK Mishra said that a report was filed based on a complaint filed by the victim's daughter Meenakshi, and efforts are being made to trace the driver.
