Two students of the city made their families proud when their names figured in the final list of the Civil Services examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission on Friday.

KANPUR: Two students of the city made their families proud when their names figured in the final list of the Civil Services examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission on Friday.
One of them is Raghav Gupta, son of Nita and Sanjay Gupta, a resident of Azad Nagar, who bagged 102nd All India Rank in IAS. Raghav is a pass-out of Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School.
Sanjay, the proud father told TOI that his son took admission in the prestigious St Stephens College in New Delhi and graduated from the college in physics.

"He stayed back in Delhi to prepare for the IAS examination and appeared for IAS-2012," he said.
When asked about the interest Raghav has, Sanjay said that his son takes keen interest in music, poetry and is avid reader. "Raghav also loves photography and can be seen with his digital camera early in the morning, capturing various moods of the nature and birds," said Raghav's father. Harsh Dixit, a former student of IIT-Kanpur, who secured 207th rank in IAS, made his parents proud after getting selected. Harsh is a resident of Panki in the city. His father works in the Ordnance Factory.
Harsh's father Om Shanker Dixit was extremely excited to know that his son had cracked the IAS. "My son has bagged 207th rank in the IAS and the entire family is proud of him," said Shanker. When asked about his son's academic record, Shanker said that Harsh was a brilliant student since his school days. He passed out of IIT-Kanpur after completing his BTech.
