Muslim clerics in Kanpur protest against the terror attacks in France

KANPUR: To condemn the mass killing of people in serial terror blasts in France on November 13, a protest by the people of Muslim community was organised at 'Shiksha Park' situated in Parade on Wednesday. The protest was organised by Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind stating that the terrorist activities of the recent times in Paris, Turkey, Lebanon and many other countries of the world is an act of shame and terrorism had no place in 'Islam'.A memorandum was also handed over to district magistrate by Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind dignitaries condemning the terrorist attack on France. A copy of this memorandum will be sent to the President of India, Secretary General, The United Nations and embassies of France, Turkey and Lebanon.
Muslim clerics were carrying banners and posters in their hands with slogans written on them "ISIS is a threat to Humanity", "Friends of ISIS are enemies of Islam" and "Terrorist are the enemies of humanity". They shouted slogans and showed solidarity. The muslim clerics who were followed by a large number of youth mentioned that shedding blood of innocent people anywhere in the world cannot be justified in the name of the religion and that this was bringing bad name and image to Islam.
In this peace protest General Secretary of Kanpur Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind, Maulana Matinul Usama Qasmi said that these terrorist attacks are inhuman and we strongly condemn these activities of any terrorist organisation. There is no space for terrorism in any civilized society. He also said that it is a challenging situation for us because these terrorist do their activities in the name of Islam but Islam has nothing to do with such barbaric and cruel acts of these terrorist.
He further said that it is a deep concern that few people are terming terrorism as 'Jihad' and relating it to Islam which is totally wrong. 'Jihad' is a creative process of fighting against injustice and to end torture. It is not meant to kill innocent people", he added further.
Usama said that the biggest problem which has been prevailing in front of us is to protect the innocents and to protect the image of Islam at the same time. The adverse situation which these terrorist have created is the major cause of exploitation of the Muslim youths worldwide, he added.
Usama mentioned that they have handed over a memorandum to District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma condemning the act of brutality by the terrorists in France, Turkey and Lebanon and expressed our sincere condolence for the members of the bereaved families.
President of the Jamiat Ulama Maulana Anwar Ahmad also condemned the brutality and took part in the peace protest. The memorandum copies would be sent to the President of India, Ambassador, Embassy of France, Turkey and Lebanon.
