Kanpur: Body of man found hanging from electric pole

KANPUR: The body of a 30-year-old man was found hanging from electric pole in the Cantt area of the city on Friday morning. The incident came to light when locals out on morning walk spotted the body and alerted the Police Control room. The police reached the spot and initiated investigations.
They questioned the locals of the area to ascertain the identity of the deceased, but in vain.Later, the police roped in a forensic team on suspicion of murder and collected evidence.
The body of the man was found hanging from an electric pole on Friday morning in front of the country-made liquor shop located near the Murray Company bridge in the Cantt area. After coming across the body, the local shopkeepers alerted the police.
Inspector Cantt, Archana Singh said that efforts are being made to identify the deceased. “The cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem report comes,” she said further.
