Big win for Afnan XI

Afnan XI and GS Logistic XI won their matches in Under-18 cricket league for HPL Trophy being played at Palika Stadium on Friday.
Afnan XI won the toss and elected to bat first on turf wicket. They posted a total of 215 for 9 with the help of Abhishek Singh’s half century (50). Avinash Tiwari contributed 47 runs. For Spectrum XI, Noorain Ali captured 3 wickets for 23 runs.
Spectrum XI, in reply, collapsed on 142 runs and lost the match. Abishek Kumar and Sandeep Gautam were main scorers and they scored 47 and 29 runs. Divyansh took 3 wickets for Afnan XI after conceding 23 runs.
On matting wicket, GS Logistic XI defeated Awasthi Sports by two wickets. Batting first, Awasthi Sports posted a total of 234 for 8 in 39.4 overs. Abhishek Pandey was their main scorer and he hit 65 runs. Mohammad Asif and Sagar Sharma also hit half centuries and they contributed 57 and 53 runs respectively.
GS Logistic XI, in reply, scored 235 for 8 in 39.4 overs and won the match. Rahul Singh and Ankit kumar Singh hit 52 and 44 runs respectively. Anand Pratap Singh bagged two wickets for Awasthi Sports.
League convener Zafar Alam Khan said there would be no matches on February 14 and 15.
