14 meritorious students felicitated

Kanpur: Monday proved to be a memorable day for 14 meritorious students who secured places in the merit list of the High School and Intermediate Board examinations as public representatives and administrative officials felicitated them at a medal ceremony held at Naveen Auditorium.
The students were honoured with medals, certificates of appreciation and a cash incentive of Rs 21,000 each. The ceremony turned emotional and cheerful as students and their parents beamed with pride when their names were announced and were called on stage amid loud applause from the audience.
In the High School category, Abhay Shukla, Shreyash Pathak, Aman Yadav, Ayush Singh and Riya Chaurasia were felicitated, while in the Intermediate category, Anjul, Arjun Dixit, Arpit Kushwaha, Rajat Yadav, Hariom Dwivedi, Himanshu, Janvi, Srishti Bajpai and Ayush Sachan were honoured.
During the ceremony, district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh presented piggy banks to the meritorious students and personally deposited a Rs 20 coin into each one to spread the message of savings and financial discipline. He said education empowers an individual to progress in life while savings provide stability and security. He added that small savings made today could help fulfil bigger dreams in future.
MLA Neelima Katiyar said that under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, a transparent and malpractice-free examination system had been established in the state, enabling talented students to shine.
Congratulating the students, she wished them success in future.
Govind Nagar MLA Surendra Maithani termed the honour a tribute to the hard work, discipline and dedication of students, while Ghatampur MLA Saroj Kureel said the success of meritorious students would inspire others to excel in academics.
