Drunk car driver rams scooter; one dead, another injured

KARNAL: A woman was killed and her son sustained serious injuries after an allegedly drunk youth ploughed his car into them on Wednesday. The car driver was nabbed by the bystanders and handed over to police.
The victims, identified as Sudesh, 55, and her son Parveen Kumar, 30, had just come out of an ATM when they were hit by the car. They were taken to a hospital nearby, where Sudesh breathed her last.Parveen's condition is stated to be critical.
"The accused driver, Lalit Yugal, was caught by the eyewitnesses and was handed over to us. We will get his medical exam done," police said.
