“A total of 80 magistrates, 15 zonal magistrates, 16 super zonal magistrates, 138 police personnel, including 13 zonal police officers, will manage crowd and vehicular movement on October 30 and 31,” DC Vijaya said.
Further, she asked the special officers (SOs) of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), the Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) and the Jugsalai Municipal Council (JMC) to demarcate the danger zones in the rivers. Besides, divers will be stationed at the banks for swift response to unfortunate incident, if any. The name and mobile phone number of the divers will be well displayed at the banks.
Moreover, the officials of the three Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) have been tasked with the clean-up drive of the river banks and the approach roads on a war footing. Meanwhile, the Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Ltd (TSUISL) has been asked to work in coordination with the municipal agencies. The officials can rope in the cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Civil Defence volunteers, and members of the Chhath puja samitis for the work.
The Jamshedpur division of the Jharkhand Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL) will set up lights at the banks and on the ‘kutchha’ roads leading to the banks. The electricity officials have been asked to ensure adequate lighting and uninterrupted power supply.
