JAMMU: Expressing concerns Kavinder Gupta, former deputy chief minister on Tuesday called for immediate undoing of stalemate regarding Village Defence Groups (VDGs) in
Jammu and Kashmir.
Gupta was seen apprehensive of the conduct of some officers of the police who allegedly had tried to create a stalemate between the VDC SPOs and members in the last few years.
"And once the issue has been settled by Government of India (GoI)-the Bharat Sarkar and agreed to in letter and spirit by UT dispensation too, the JK Police should implement it without further delay," Gupta said, while having all praise for the landmark steps which have been taken by said VDCs in J&K for freeing it from the clutches of militancy.
Ranbir Singh Pathania, former MLA & J&K BJP Spokesperson said that 'last man in last area' is the gospel and guiding light of BJP.
Pathania called for a missionary approach while dealing with day to day issues of the people. "We need to rectify the errors and slips of the past. These are wounds which have festered for decades and decades should be cured and wiped off by now," he added.
Senior BJP leaders observed this while interacting with deputations of selected Junior Statistical Assistants (JSAs), Rehbar-e-Janglaat, National Youth Corps (NYCs) which called on BJP office here today.
