JAIPUR: The Urban Development Housing (UDH) department on Wednesday invited a Chinese company to participate in development projects in the state. A presentation was made for the delegates of the Shanghai Urban Construction Group Corporation (SUCG) to seek its participation in state projects.
“The Chinese company has expertise in civil construction work and this will give the state a better opportunity to learn its technique and speed up to the projects if they participate in our projects,” UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal said.

However, SUCG has to go through the proper procedure to seek public private partnership (PPP) to take part in the projects.
The Chinese delegation comprising five members was briefed about the various development projects going on in the state, including ring road and Ghat Ki Ghuni tunnel among others. A brief presentation of the tourism and solar energy projects was also made.
UDH principal secretary G S Sandhu said, “The delegation will meet JDA and MJC officials and look into the possibilities in which they can participate.” Sandhu also sought SUCG’s cooperation in developing a town planning museum on the model of Shanghai town planning museum. SUCG president-director Yang Jun Long said, “India is a good market and I am confident in future we can work in Jaipur and provide our expertise.”
