Jaipur: Employees under the state ministerial employees’ federation, who have been on mass leave since April 10, started a mahapadao at Shipra Path in Mansarovar for an indefinite period from Monday over delay in fulfilling their demands. Around 20,000 employees of 50 government departments participated in the mahapadao, said Raj Singh Choudhury, president of the federation.
They have been demanding equal pay as paid to ministerial employees of the secretariat and employees recruited through RPSC. Other demands include restoration of pay to Rs 9,840, one-time relaxation in promotional posts up to Grade Pay 3600, issuance of notification for recruitment for the posts of panchayati raj department, issuing orders for transfers in the panchayati raj department.
“The mahapadao will continue until the government takes a decision on the demands of the ministerial employees. We have boycotted all work related to flagship schemes of the government and work at collector’s offices in all districts. Even after having similar recruitments, equal qualification and similar work, the ministerial employees are less paid than ministerial employees of the secretariat and employees recruited through Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC),” said Choudhury.
