Laboratory technicians to stir over pay hike

Jaipur: Lab technicians will sit on dharna on Monday demanding hike in grade pay and change in name of their designation. Under All Rajasthan lab technician employees’ union (ARLTE), lab technicians from across the state will stage a one-day sit-in protest at the Shahid Smarak.
They are reminding the state government about the work they have done during Covid-19 pandemic.
“It was us who conducted diagnostic tests during Covid-19 pandemic. It was the time when social distancing was followed, but we did not fear of our own health and conducted tests. The government should fulfill our demands. We are getting grade pay of Rs 2,800. It should be increased to Rs 4,200,” said Mahesh Saini, spokesperson, ARLTE.
ARLTE claimed that lab technicians from across the state are gathering in Jaipur for dharna.
