BIKANER: Police on Monday registered two FIR against Manik Chand Surana, rebel BJP leader and independent candidate from Loonkaransar constituency for alleged violation of election code of conduct.
According to SHO, Loonkaransar police received information that public meeting of Manik Chand Surana was going on in village Jamsar for which he didn't take any permission.
Immediately a team was sent to the spot for video recording. Supporters of Surana stopped the photographer Gulab and asked him to not to shoot the meeting. When the photographer refused to listen, Surana's supporters manhandled him and broke his camera. On receiving information, police team rushed to the spot, but by then the miscreants absconded.
On the complaint of land records officer Kisnaram Jat, police on Monday registered an FIR against Sikandar Shah (Surana's supporter) and a dozen others under sections 353, 382, 186, 143 of IPC.
Similarly, on the complaint of block development officer Amit Kumar, police registered another FIR against Manik Chand Surana under sections 188 and143 of IPC for alleged violation of election code of conduct and for provoking supporters and creating obstacles in working of government officers.
It may be mentioned here that veteran BJP leader Manik Chand Surana has filed nomination as independent candidate from Loonkaransar when BJP denied him ticket and declared Sumit Godara as its candidate against Congress candidate Virendra Beniwal.
