Contractual computer operators call off protest after Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot’s assurance

JAIPUR: The contractual computer operators, employed under the state government’s free medicine and investigation scheme, who had been protesting at Jaipur’s Shaheed Smarak for the past 13 days, called off their protest on Monday evening after assurance from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot that their demands would be fulfilled.
They demanded their posts to be regularised and an increase in their salaries from Rs 8,500 to 18,000.“A delegation of computer operators met the chief minister (at his residence). He said the government has started working on our file and assured us that the work will be complete in seven days,” said Pushpendra Gurjar, state president, contractual computer operator mahasangh (united).
On Sunday, over 2,000 protestors joined the demonstration at the Shaheed Smarak. There are 4,041 computer operators under free medicine scheme and 713 under free investigation scheme. The computer operators are working under various posts as a part of the free medicine scheme.
