UDAIPUR: Actor Suniel Shetty has been served a notice by the Udaipur police summoning him to appear within 7 days at the Hiranmagri police station here. Meanwhile, the star has arranged for a lawyer to face the police queries at initial level. The actor had been issued notice in a case of fraud pending against him which was lodged some days ago by a local producer Hemendra Singh Solanki.

Solanki had reportedly cast Shetty as the male lead in his upcoming movie 'Mumbai Kiski Hai'.
Shetty received an advance payment of Rs 21 lakh but he neither signed the contract papers nor gave the dates for the shooting hence delaying the project for eight months.
On Wednesday beat constable Naresh Kumar served the notice to Shetty personally at his residence in Mumbai. The actor said he would extend full support in the investigation and said that his lawyer in Udaipur will soon approach the police to furnish all the information on his behalf.
An initial probe in the matter by the police proved that the actor had received a sum of Rs 21 lakh from the complainant's bank account through RTGS but it is yet to be established whether the amount was given to him as the signing amount for the film.
Babu Bhatt, the director of the film in his statement to the police recorded earlier this week had held that the star had asked for an advance payment of Rs 21 lakh which was duly given to him but he refused to give dates until his demand of full payment of Rs 50 lakh was met.
