With severe head injury, 25-year-old continued helping others
Times News Network
Indore: Even after suffering a severe head injury in the devastating firecracker factory explosion in Tonk Kalan, 25-year-old Vishal continued helping other injured workers.
The impact of the blast was so intense that he was flung several feet away from the site. According to hospital sources, Vishal regained consciousness in a dazed state, moments after the explosion and immediately began assisting others caught in the chaos. Amid the panic and destruction, he did not realise that he had sustained a major head injury.
A few hours later, his condition started deteriorating. He complained of dizziness and began vomiting repeatedly, following which he was rushed to Amaltas Hospital for treatment. As his neurological condition worsened, doctors referred him to MY Hospital in Indore late on Thursday night.
MY hospital superintendent Ashok Yadav said that he was currently admitted to the neurosurgery ward where doctors are closely monitoring his condition. Sources said the blast impact had caused serious internal head trauma, though a detailed medical assessment is still underway.
The explosion has already claimed multiple lives and left several workers injured, many with severe burns. Several injured workers also remained critical in hospitals in Dewas and Indore with severe burn injuries and trauma caused by the explosion.
According to officials, many victims suffered deep burns, fractures and respiratory complications after inhaling smoke and explosive residue.
Ram, 20, a resident of Areriya, Niranjan, 30, and Ajay, have been admitted in MY Hospital. Amit Dave, 19, Amit Mandal, 19, Laltu, 22, and Roshan, 19, are undergoing treatment at Choithram Hospital.
