Two college students from Indore drowned in Narmada River near famous Omkareshwar temple in Khandwa district here on Friday morning.

INDORE: Two college students from Indore drowned in Narmada River near famous Omkareshwar temple in Khandwa district here on Friday morning. The duo went into deep waters and drowned at Chakrateerth Ghat located close to the famous temple.
They were identified as Mridul Chouhan, 23, and Nitesh Jhakaria, 26.
Khandwa superintendent of police Manoj Sharma said Mridul was pursuing MBA at IPS College while Nitesh was a M Com student at Khalsa College in Indore.

Mridul hailed from Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh while Nitesh was a native of Jhansi district. Bodies of both the students, who drowned around 6 am, were fished out two hours later, added Sharma. The duo along with four other college friends went to the site for a picnic and to offer prayers at Omkareshwar temple.
