Indore: Raoji Bazaar police recovered two more cars from the habitual offender Sanjay Kalra, accused of cheating vehicle owners by taking cars on rent and misappropriating them.
The case dates back to 2019, when complainants Brajesh Mantri and Anuj Maheshwari rented out their Hyundai Verna and Hyundai i20 cars to Kalra. He initially paid rent for a few months to gain their trust, but later stopped payments and refused to return the vehicles. When the owners demanded their cars back, Kalra allegedly threatened them, asking for Rs 1.5 lakh each and warning of false cases if they persisted.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Kalra under relevant sections of the BNS. During investigation, police traced and recovered the two vehicles from Gwalior and Dewas following disclosure by the accused.
