Thumris of yesteryear make it a musical evening

To remember and spread awareness about the semi classical form of classical music- Thumri- and its rich presence in the Bollywood music, a special music show titled 'Hum Haale Dil Sunanyenge' was organized in Indore on Saturday at Jal auditorium. For the show, artistes from Indore performed some selected Thumris from the yesteryear’s films. The singers for the show organized by Swarda organization were Sapna Kekre, Nandini Kulkarni, Smita Panse, Bhawna Tapaswee etc.



The films from which these songs were selected were Umrao Jaan, Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas, Mukaddar ka Sikandar, Pakeeza etc. Songs like 'Dil Cheez Kya Hai', 'Inhi logon ne', 'Chalte Chalte yunhi koi mil gaya' and others that have featured leading actresses of the golden age. Mona Thakur, who conducted the show, kept giving interesting trivia about Thumri to the audience to make the show even more interesting.
