Robbers barged into house, decamp with cash, jewellery
INDORE: Some miscreants barged into the house of a retired armyman and a constable in Kumhar Khadi area and made away with the cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.The incident took place late on Thursday in Kumhar Khadi area under Banganga police station when all the family members were sleeping.Two thieves entered the house of 50-year-old Anand Jadon, retired Army education inspector, by breaking the lock. They then made away with cash and jewellery of around Rs 2.5 lakh, kept in the store room of his bedroom.Jadon lives in a joint family comprising 25 people. All the family members were sleeping at the time of incident and incidentally none of them came to know about the house break.The incident came to fore around 4:30am when Jadon woke up.“I normally wake up around 5 but since I was thirsty I woke up early and found that the door of the store room was open and many items were missing from the wardrobe. I rushed downstairs to see that the door to my tenant’s house was also open,” said Anand Jadon while speaking to TOI. Jadon immediately alerted his family members and informed Banganga police.As per CCTV footages, thieves roamed in the room for 30 minutes and then fled the scene.
The complainant also claimed that all the rooms were found to be locked from outside.Jadon also has a tenant, Sanjay who is posted in Malharganj police station, as a constable. “Sanjay is on vacation. His loss would be known only upon his return,” said Jadon.Jadon retired from Army in 2008 and is presently involved in transport business in Dewas Naka area.“We have registered a case under Section 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence) and 380 (Theft in dwelling house) of the IPC and further investigations are on,” said Banganga police station in-charge Vinod Dixit.
