Indore: A 57-year-old police sub-inspector committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his official quarters at Rajgarh outpost in Dhar district on Tuesday.
The sub-inspector, RPS Jadon, who was in charge of Rajgarh outpost, was working in his office when all of a sudden he left for his quarters nearby, his colleagues said.
In the evening, when the policemen from the post called him on his mobile phone, he did not respond.
The cops went to his quarter and broke the door and found Jadon hanging from the ceiling. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. Dhar superintendent of police Rajesh Hingankar said that Jadon's relatives had told the police that he was suffering from depression for past several days. sIronically, at the time Jadon had entered his quarters on Tuesday, and is believed to have committed suicide, his wife and daughter, who reside in Mhow, had met Hingankar seeking his transfer.
"Jadon's daughter had claimed that her mother was suffering from brain haemorrhage and he wanted to be near her to attend to her medical needs," Hingankar told TOI, adding before any step could be taken, his body was found in the night.
