Another Manipuri film selected for Kerala fest

Imphal: Eminent film-maker Romi Meitei’s Manipuri feature film ‘Eikhoigi Yum’ (Our Home) is among the two flicks selected as the Indian films in the international competition section for the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala 2022 (IFFK) to be held at Thiruvananthapuram from December 9 to 16.
The other is a Hindi film titled ‘Ek Jagah Apni’ (A place of our own) directed by Ektara Collective, Meitei told this reporter on Monday.Eikhoigi Yum bagged the best feature film award in the 14 Manipur State Film Awards 2022 and also got the official selection at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2022, he added. The key cast of the 89-minute film are Ningthoujam Priyojit, Sorri Senjam, Nganthoibi and Bhumeshore.
Meitei’s feat comes close on the heels of Manipuri documentary film ‘Beyond Blast’ being selected as part of the ‘Indian Panorama Official Selection’ to be screened at the 53rd International Film Festival of India in Goa.
