Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam earns Rs 61 crore at hair auction

TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) earned a profit of Rs 61.72 crore through 89.413 tonnes of human hair at an e-auction held here on Thursday.
About 188.491 tonnes of human hair, including second, third, fourth, fifth and grey hair varieties, was placed for e-auction, of which 89.413 tonnes went for bidding. The e-auction fetched an excess of Rs 2.11 lakh than the last year.
Out of 39,688 kilos of second variety human hair stock, 28,700 kilos of human hair stock was bid, fetching an amount of Rs 53.54 crore to the temple.
