Hyderabad: Telangana Inc on Wednesday lauded the state govt's budget for 2025-26 for laying the foundation for inclusive growth and technological leadership while stepping up focus on sustainable industrial development.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
Telangana chairman R Sivaprasad Reddy said the Mega Master Plan 2050 for industrial development, which includes the establishment of greenfield industrial clusters in Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar districts, will give a big fillip to the industrial growth ambitions of the state.
"CII Telangana has been strongly advocating for the holistic development of Telangana to become a $1-trillion economy, and we are happy that the state govt has also outlined the priorities in this direction. The proposal to build a Future City will help reduce the burden on the capital city," Reddy said.
Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Telangana state council chairman VV Rama Raju said the budget reflects a forward-thinking vision aimed at driving inclusive growth and positioning the state as a leader in technology, infrastructure, and sustainable development.
"Through the budget, the govt laid a strong foundation for transforming Telangana into a future-ready state by introducing the Mega Master Plan 2050 and the Future City project, with a focus on AI-powered innovations, smart infrastructure, and attracting global investments," he said.
FICCI Telangana state council co-chairman Meela Jayadev said while the Mega Master Plan 2050 and AI City development within Future City are poised to integrate cutting-edge technologies with traditional sectors and unlock immense potential for technological advancement and increased productivity, the emphasis on agriculture, with an allocation of 24,439 crore, demonstrates its intent to leverage technology to strengthen rural economies and enhance agricultural productivity.
"FICCI commends the FM for the increased allocations to education, healthcare, irrigation, and welfare schemes, which will significantly enhance social welfare and ensure economic stability across the state," Jayadev added.
CII's Reddy also lauded the emphasis on employment, skilling, and MSMEs and said that coupled with targeted measures for agriculture, urban development, and sustainability, it is expected to be impactful for the state in the long run.
The Telangana govt's focus on large-scale infrastructure projects and affordable housing got a thumbs up from the realty sector.
The focus on large-scale infrastructure projects such as the Hyderabad-Warangal Industrial Corridor, Future City, and expansion of road networks signifies a deliberate effort to enhance regional connectivity and catalyse new investment prospects, said Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO, India, Southeast Asia, Middle East & Africa, CBRE.
"The Hybrid Annuity Model for rural roads and the H-CITI plan for Hyderabad's urban transformation will significantly improve mobility, logistics, and overall urban liveability," Magazine added.
"The budget prioritises infrastructure and housing, reinforcing key drivers of real estate growth. The planned development of affordable housing through satellite townships along the ORR will unlock new residential corridors, enhancing accessibility for low- and middle-income buyers while easing congestion in Hyderabad's core," said Shishir Baijal, Chairman and Managing Director, Knight Frank India.
