HYDERABAD: Four criminal cases were booked against owners of four multi-storied buildings (MSBs) at Chandanagar police station on Tuesday.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) vigilance wing has conducted inspections last week and identified four illegal water connections.
The vigilance wing advised the property owners to get their connections regularised by paying necessary charges, but they did not heed.
"On Tuesday, the Water Board has lodged complaints against the four properties owners - Suresh (H.No.2-12/1), Vijaya Raghavendra Apartments (total flats 59); Raj Reddy, (Plot No.47) Keshava Nilayam (flats-8), Vidyanagar; Rajith Kumar, (H.No.1-33/2/3), Plot No.42, Palace House Apartments (flats: 6) and S S Venkateshwar Rao, (H.No.2-35/2/2) G+3, Chandanagar - with the Chandanagar police.
Based on the complaint, the Chandanagar police have registered criminal cases against the four property owners, according to an official release issued by the HMWS&SB here on Tuesday. Suresh was asked to pay penalty of Rs 7.30 lakh, Raj Reddy Rs 3.65 lakh, Rajith Kumar Rs 72,000 and Venkateshwar Rao Rs 87,000, the release added.
So far, 10 cases have been filed against property owners having illegal water connections and three were arrested in the past two months.
