he said that the body of the departed leader would be placed on the premises of skbr college for the people to pay their homage to balayogi. satish chandra said that it has been tentatively decided that a memorial park in the name of balayogi would come up on the acquired land at amalapuram. people of konaseema have virtually come on to roads to pay last respects to their beloved leader. the body which is being taken to amalapuram is moving at a snail’s pace as the carriage is being stopped at every crossing. large number of people perched on roof tops and any available place were seen trying to have a glimpse of balayogi. the officials here say that the possibility of taking the body to ramayanpeta in edurulanka on tuesday morning is not ruled out. edurulanka is about two kilometres from amalapuram and is the birth place of balayogi. however, a final decision was yet to be taken, the officials add. according to the police, at this pace, the body of balayogi might reach amalapuram only around midnight. meanwhile, the district administration has acquired 14 acres of agricultural land at an estimated cost of rs 7 lakh per acre for the purpose of developing a memorial for balayogi. the administration has mobilised men and material to fill the agriculture fields with mud so that the ground could be ready by tomorrow evening. earlier in the morning, the newly elected rajahmundry municipal corporation met and passed a resolution condoling the former lok sabha speaker. the council also adopted a resolution where it was decided to name the campus coming up in aryapuram after him. tentatively it was decided to have a memorial in the name of balayogi at rajahmundry also.
