Man uses fake no. plate to evade challans, held
Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police arrested a 23-year-old private employee for using a fake vehicle number plate to evade traffic challans and mislead law enforcement agencies. The accused, Karthika Jaya Kumar of Serilingampally, was booked after Hyderabad traffic police detected the fraud during enforcement checks and shared the information with Banjara Hills police.According to investigators, Karthika Jaya Kumar used a fake registration number on a motorcycle instead of its actual temporary registration number. The number originally belonged to a scooter owned by a woman, who is resident of Manikonda.Because of the misuse, traffic challans generated for violations committed by the accused were wrongly issued against the actual scooter owner.Based on the findings, Banjara Hills police registered a case under Section 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), read with Sections 130 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The accused was issued a notice as per law, acccording to police.
