Man kills dad over property dispute, held

JS BHUPALAPALLY: A 48-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his son following heated arguments over a land dispute at Dudekulapally village in JS Bhupalapally district three days ago. The incident came to light on Sunday morning after the son dumped the body in a lake.
The deceased and his son have been identified as Gummadi Tirupati and Dhanunjay (25), respectively.Tirupati's wife died several years ago.
Speaking to the media, Bhupalpally CI A Ram Narsimha Reddy said, "On August 16, Tirupati and his son argued and the quarrel escalated. In a fit of anger, Dhanunjay hit his father with a wooden plank leading to his death."
On Sunday morning, he took the body on a two-wheeler and dumped it in a nearby lake, cops said.
While returning, Dhanunjay stopped at a petrol pump and some villagers noticed foul smell coming from his vehicle. He confessed under questioning by the villagers but managed to flee the spot. He was later caught again by the villagers and handed over to police.
