Hyderabad: Three friends, including two techies, die in car accident

Three childhood friends, including two techies, died after their car dashed into a roadside tree and turned turtle. All three friends were allegedly drunk.

HYDERABAD: Three childhood friends, including two techies, died after their car dashed into a roadside tree and turned turtle. All three friends were allegedly drunk.
The victims were identified as Vinayak Malikarjuna (29), a software engineer from New Saidabad, P Sainath (27), a private employee from Saraswathi Nagar Saidabad and Sreeram Naik (28), a software engineer from Santosh Nagar area.

While all three died on the spot, another friend, M Ramaprasad Kalyan sustained severe injuries in the accident.
According to police, the four friends, along with two other childhood friends, went to a party at Gurram Guda. "While they were returning, Vinayak who was behind the wheels, lost control of the vehicle. All four friends were in a drunken condition, while, except Kalyan, none were wearing the seat belt. The two other friends who were on their two-wheeler called out for help. Kalyan was rushed to a private hospital," said Saroornagar police.
The incident occurred at around 2am on Sunday near Karmanghat Sagar road, when the group of friends were travelling from Gurram Guda towards Saidabad. The bodies of the victims were shifted to Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy, while, Kalyan is undergoing treatment at Jeevan Hospital after sustaining injuries.
A case was registered under section 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC.
