With qawwalis and other programmes organised at many places in the Old City, enthusiastic youths and children come out on the streets and are seen walking from one area to another. Several organisations have planned special sermons and blood donation camps.
Throwing light on the importance of Prophet Mohammed's life, and the celebration of Milad-Un-Nabi, Maulana Syed Mohammed Qubool Pasha Shuttari, president of Majlis Ulema-e-Deccan, said the birth anniversary of the Prophet is a very important day for Muslims. He called upon the Muslims to celebrate Jashn Milad-Un-Nabi in a peaceful manner, and ensure that Milad rallies are conducted peacefully.
"On this occasion, I convey my best wishes to all Muslims," the Maulana said. "During the Milad juloos and processions, youths should maintain discipline and respect others to mark the great day. Muslims should avoid disruptive behaviour, and stay away from loathsome activities in the course of the festival," he said.
The president of Minhaj-Ul-Quran women league India-Hyderabad, Syeda Nishat Hussain, said that the organisation has planned to conduct tilawat, naat, bayaan and dua in the Old City on the auspicious day. "The objective of conducting such events is to honour Prophet Mohammed. Religious leaders from different areas will participate in Jashn Milad-un-Nabi programme," said Syeda Nishat Hussain.
