HYDERABAD: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in the city where he slammed the BRS government, IT minister
KT Rama Rao threw a challenge at the PM to name a state with all-round performance better than
Telangana in the last nine years.
Listing out the achievements of Telangana, the BRS working president said that despite all the good work the PM did not have a single word of appreciation for the state.
The PM refused to acknowledge a performing state for petty politics, he alleged.
"Best performing state under visionary CM KCR is ranked No. 1 in India. Per Capita Income of Telangana has increased from 1,24,000 in 2014-15 to 3,17,000 in 2022-23. 155% growth, highest. This performance is despite an inimical Union Government. #TriumphantTelangana #KCR,"
KTR tweeted on Sunday
KTR said that Telangana has the highest per capita growth in India, is the first state to provide drinking water to all homes, built the world's largest lift irrigation project and has the best rural development model in the country with 100% Open Defecation Free (ODF) plus villages. Be it agriculture or technology, the state was right at the top, KTR said.
Telangana is also the vaccine hub of the world, he reminded the PM.
Stating that Telangana has the highest green cover growth of 7.7% in India, KTR said the state has also won the second highest number of awards (26) for municipalities in India.
What's more, Telangana is among top four contributing states to Indian GDP and also among top three in Ease of Doing Business. Telangana has the best industrial policy in the country and is home to India's largest textile park,
Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, KTR said, adding that the state has the highest per capita power consumption in India and is the second largest renewable energy producer. The state also has one of the lowest debt to GSDP ratios in the country, he said.
"Telangana has lowest corruption in India as per latest survey of Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS). The state also won several international accolades," he said, adding that Hyderabad has been rated by Mercer the Best Indian city five years in a row from 2015 to 2020.
