HYDERABAD: A deportee from Johannesburg was arrested by the immigration officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Begumpet on charges of travelling on a fake passport on Tuesday.
According to the Begumpet police, the accused has been identified as Y Shiva Nageshwara Rao, 19, a native of Guntur district.
He had gone to Johannesburg by an Emirates flight on a fake visa and marriage certificate on March 21 this year.
Immigration officials at Johannesburg, who checked Rao’s travelling documents, found that they were forged ones and deported him to India.
He was arrested by immigration officials at the Begumpet airport.
Police inquiries revealed that Rao went to Johannesburg on a visiting visa in February this year. There he procured a fake visa and a work permit through a middleman.
He came to the city for a couple of days and again went to Johannesburg on March 21, where the immigration officials found that Rao was travelling on a fake visa.Deportee held at airport
