HYDERABAD: CPI has welcomed chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS government’s decision to bid for acquisition of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) popularly known as Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) in Andhra Pradesh.
CPI national secretary K Narayana along with state secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao on Monday said KCR has taken an appropriate decision to bid for VSP through its coal mining PSU- Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
The
Telangana government holds 51% share and the Centre 49% stake in SCCL.
It would be a great loss to the nation if PSUs like VSP go into the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's corporate friends like Adani Group. The CPI along with its workers unions will fully support the Telangana government in its effort to take over VSP, Narayana said, while praising KCR for his decision. He made it clear that CPI wants VSP to be put back on track for which the Left party would extend all possible help to the Telangana government. “The Modi-led BJP government is handing over all public sector undertakings to its corporate friends,” Narayana alleged.
