WARANGAL: A 52-year-old worker ended his life in Mallareddypally in Hasanparthy mandal of Hanumakonda district over alleged harassment by traffic police.
The deceased consumed pesticide at his residence on May 22 before calling his friend, informing him about the alleged harassment and that he has consumed pesticide.
The deceased, identified as Palakurthy Mogili, was working in a cloth shop at Pinnavari street in Warangal area.
On May 21, traffic police stopped Mogili's two-wheeler and asked him to pay the challan amount of 7,120 pending against his vehicle. He had 17 challans pending.
As Mogili was unable to pay up, his vehicle was seized and sent to Matwada police station.
Distressed, Mogili walked to his residence and revealed the incident to his son and wife. On May 22 morning, when he was alone at home, Mogili consumed pesticide. His friend rushed him to hospital, where he succumbed late on Wednesday night.
