Hyderabad: The state government on Monday urged the
Telangana HC to direct state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar to hand over his mobile to police investigating
SSC paper leak case, adding if he failed to do so then they would have to move a plea seeking cancellation of bail as he is the prime accused.
Bandi has claimed that he lost his phone.
Earlier, when plea filed by Bandi questioning the decision of trial court to send him to judicial remand came up, advocate general BS Prasad said he had been granted bail.
However, MP’s advocate said a senior counsel would argue their case and requested time. The AG then informed court that the MP’s mobile has a lot of evidence and he was not handing it over.
“It amounts to non-cooperation and we may file a plea seeking cancellation of the bail granted to him,” the AG said, expressing apprehension delay may result in destruction of evidence. Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan sought an affidavit from state and posted the case to April 21. tnn
