GUNTUR: With the receipt of a second forensic report in the Rishiteswari suicide case, police are likely to file a chargesheet shortly. Three accused students of Acharya Nagarjuna University are currently lodged in the district prison after their bail pleas were rejected twice.
Circle inspector D Rama Krishna told TOI that they are consulting legal experts to make a fool-proof chargesheet.
“It will be prepared soon,” he said.
Asked whether any more persons will be included apart from the three accused, investigating officer (IO) said that further details would be revealed only after the chargesheet is ready. The accused -- Dumpa Anisha, Dharavath Jaicharan and Narala Srinivas -- allegedly drove Rishiteswari, a first year architecture student, to suicide on July 15.
Earlier, SP Sarva Sreshtha Tripathi on Saturday received the forensic report. Police had requested for one more test to determine whether the handwriting in the second diary was that of Rishiteswari. Sources said the forensic report confirmed the handwriting.
Meanwhile, students’ organisations have been demanding that suspended architecture college principal G Baburao be made an accused. They also demanded his arrest.
