Four teams, which have started the rally from different locations of the country, will reach New Delhi on the same day. AIPTF has 30 lakh members spread across the country, Gurikar added.
Gurikar said a monthlong rally has been organised urging the central government to heed their four major demands — cancelling New Pension Scheme (NPS) and implementing the old pension scheme, giving up some anti-teacher and anti-student elements from National Education Policy-2020, appointing permanent teachers to all government schools (instead of guest teachers), and introducing a common salary system to all state and central government teachers. Gurikar said more than 10 lakh teachers from across the country will assemble at Ramleela Maidan on October 5 to put pressure on the government.
K Nagesh, president of Karnataka State Primary School Teachers’ Association (KSPSTA), AIPTF treasurer Harigonvindan and other office bearers were present.

Thousands of South Korean teachers and staff rallied in Seoul to demand more legal protection from bullying by parents. The protests were sparked by the death of a teacher who had reportedly experienced emotional distress due to complaints from abusive parents. The teachers argue that current laws make it difficult to control their classrooms and leave them vulnerable to accusations of emotionally abusing children. Lawmakers are currently debating bills to address these concerns, but some experts worry that the proposed changes could weaken protection for children.
