BELAGAVI: District administration is going to create awareness among public about H1N1 outbreak from 13th 25th March across the district. Outbreak has claimed four people including 18 months old child and eight months pregnant woman so far in the district and many are suffering.
DC N Jayaram held meeting with the health department officials here on Wednesday.
He said
H1N1 is spreading in the district and deaths are occurring due to lack of awareness among people about how to prevent the disease by taking proper preventive measures.
He said as a part of awareness campaign, medical officers in taluk hospitals and primary health centres will visit villages and create awareness about the disease. So far, swab samples of 77 patients have been collected of the 15 samples tested positive.
Separate ward has been opened to treat H1N1 patients in the district government hospital and quick rehabilitation team has been set-up in every taluk to deal with the epidemic.
He said there is no dearth of H1N1 medicine in the district. Anybody wanted to know more about H1N1 may call on 0831-2424285. If patient is suffering by severe symptoms of H1N1, call to 108 vehicle, DC appealed.
Health officials said children below 5 year age, elders crossed 65 age, pregnant women, diabetic patients are more vulnerable to H1N1. Such people should contact doctors immediately if they are suffering from severe fever, cough, cold, omitting, loose motion or weakness.
