GUWAHATI: A socio-cultural organization in the state, Adda, is all set to organize eighth film festival from December 10 with a view to provide opportunity to filmmakers to screen fiction, non-fiction and animation films.
General secretary of Adda, Jhulan Krishna Mahanta on Monday said, "Through short films, young filmmakers have been able to showcase their creativity at a considerably low cost.
In the forthcoming film festival, organized by Adda, we have invited short films with maximum duration of 15 minutes."
Mahanta said the organization that began its journey to popularize short films way back in 2004, has inspired filmmakers who have been able to establish their work in the international arena later.
The young brigade, dedicated to film and performing arts, had earlier screened much acclaimed films like Printed Rainbow directed by Gitanjali Rao, An Actor Prepares- a film by Avanish Upmanyu, Doctor Nurse and Patient by Angshuman Barkakoti and films screened in the Cannes film festival and Mumbai International Film Festival, said organizer Debojit Gayan.
This year Adda is going to organize the festival in three categories - screening of invited films, competition and screening of short films.
We are going to give a certificate to each of the participants because certification matters for those filmmakers who are yet to screen their creations among a wider audience.
