Mizoram BJP prez calls on Gadkari
Aizawl: BJP Mizoram president and MLA K Beichhua called on Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari at his official residence in New Delhi on Tuesday, a press release issued by the BJP state unit said on Wednesday, reports HC Vanlalruata. During their meeting, Beichhua highlighted the critical condition of Mizoram's vital highways emphasising the urgent need for improvements to ensure safer travel. He stressed that the deterioration of the key highways, particularly NH-306 and NH-06, connecting Mizoram with the rest of the country, requires immediate attention and swift action to enhance safety and speedy repair works.Beichhua, during his meeting with Gadkari, proposed a new route passing through the western part of Mizoram, specifically from Tripura linking Mamit district to Lunglei and Lawngtlai districts. The suggested route aims to improve accessibility and road safety by connecting various regions. He also submitted a written request for the necessary infrastructure improvements, which Gadkari acknowledged, expressing his willingness to address the issue.Additionally, Beichhua was set to meet Union health minister and BJP national president JP Nadda on Wednesday to further discuss matters related to the state, a press release issued by the state BJP unit said.
