Mizoram BJP prez appeal for road work

Aizawl: Newly elected Mizoram BJP president K Beichhua on Saturday appealed to the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) officials to undertake repair of the section allotted to the PSU of the ministry of road transport & highways (MoRTH) along the Silchar-Aizawl national highway as it is the lifeline of the state.Beichhua said the 77km stretch being repaired by the NHIDCL, though in poor condition, is better than the 40km section being under the state PWD as heavy rain will render the section impossible for vehicle to ply. He urged NHIDCL officials to deploy excavators at places where the road conditions are worst from Saturday and begin repair works immediately.
