Team probing murder of 6 women, kids visits Jiribam
Imphal: The fact-finding team set up to probe the recent brutal murder of six women and children visited Jiribam Wednesday.
The team consists of a chairperson and two members of the Manipur State Commission for Women.
According to an official report, DC Jiribam held a meeting with the MSCW team and various line departments directly involved in dealing with the day-to-day issues of relief camp inmates on Nov 29.
In the meeting, the police, social welfare and medical departments raised their immediate and long-term concerns in dealing with the prevailing situation.
The MSCW team also held another meeting with the special SP and nodal officers of the relief camps and discussed the administrative issues and ways to improve the living conditions of the inmates.
This apart, the team inspected the one-stop centre of Jiribam district and had a discussion with the employees there.
Later, the team met the families of the victims and heard their grievances, a press note issued by W Phajatombi, member secretary, MSCW stated.
