Beichhua elected Mizoram BJP prez

Aizawl: K Beichhua has been officially elected as the new president of BJP Mizoram Pradesh, as announced by MLA and national president of BJP Mahila Morcha Vanathi Srinivasan on Monday. Outgoing state president Vanlalhmuaka and state council member Phillip Vanlalmawia John were elected as national council members. The announcement was made during a formal event at the Atal Bhavan, the BJP office in Aizawl, while the election was taken up on consensus by the electors on Sunday in the presence of Devesh Kumar, BJP's Mizoram State Prabhari. Born on Dec 19, 1966, in Siaha town, Beichhua dedicated much of his life to both medical service and public leadership. The BJP legislator entered active politics by joining the Mizo National Front (MNF) in 2013. He currently serves as the leader of BJP in the 40-member Mizoram legislative assembly.
